The university's license for SOLIDWORKS is strictly academic and intended for coursework and instructional purposes. If you're a teaching assistant who needs access to SOLDIWORKS for your course work, you can request access to the license by submitting a ticket at software.vt.edu/help.
Academic Research
While the university's license for SOLIDWORKS is strictly academic and primarily intended for coursework and instructional purposes, it can be used for limited academic research provided the answer is "no" to the following questions:
- Will any profit be made from this research?
- Will you be applying for any patents as a result of this research?
- Will any entity outside of the university benefit directly from this research?
